Obsidian Bases, published
Bases turn your Obsidian vault into a database. Flowershow publishes those databases to the web — tables, cards, lists, filters, formulas and all. Here's everything you need to know.
What is Obsidian Bases?
Bases is a core Obsidian feature that lets you query and display your notes as structured data. Think of it like a lightweight database built from your frontmatter properties — filter by date, status, or any property; display results as a table, card gallery, or list; and compute new values with formulas.
Where most tools stop at rendering markdown, Flowershow goes further — your Bases render on your published site exactly as they appear in Obsidian.
Getting started
Bases blocks are parsed in MDX mode. To make them work on your Flowershow site, add one line to your page frontmatter:
---
title: My reading list
syntaxMode: mdx
---
```base
...your base query here
```
Or set it globally for your whole site in your config.json. See the syntax mode docs for details.
